Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I know if my family will qualify?
Families are qualified based primarily on income and some specific life situations.

Families that exceed the income requirements, may qualify for a paid spot and are encouraged to fill out an application. Paid spots are limited. If you are over the income requirements, someone from the preschool will get a hold of you after your application is processed and let you know what your options are.

If I qualify, will my child automatically get a spot?
There are a limited number of spots available at our center each year. This number of openings varies based on how many of our previous students move up to kindergarten. Applications are processed in the order in which they are returned to us. The earlier you can turn in your child’s application along with copies of ALL the required documentation, the better chance your child has of getting a spot. (Applications that are partially filled out or missing required documentation will not be processed until they are completed.)

When will I know if my child gets a spot?
In July, someone from the preschool will reach out to you to let you know if your child will be able to get a spot or not. It is important that we have a current phone number so we can contact you. If your number changes from the one you provided on your application, please email MvPrekRegistration@mvschools.net so we can update your file.

When will I know who my child’s teacher will be?
Our class list is posted on the preschool door on August 1st.

What are your hours of operation and when are the school breaks?
Mountain View Preschool follows the same academic calendar as the Mountain View School District. This includes closing for inclement weather. Our hours are as follows:

Drop-off is from 7:45-8:15
Pick-up time is from 2:30-3:15

Does my child need any school supplies?
We provide all the necessary school supplies for your child. The only thing your child will need is an extra set of clothes for spills or accidents.

What will my child do in preschool?
Research shows that the growing minds of preschoolers learn best through learning activities incorporated into play. This is why we are a play-based preschool. Our goal is to give our students the skills they need to be successful in kindergarten in a fun and dynamic learning environment.

Are meals provided?
Yes. We provide breakfast, lunch, and a snack each day.
