The Rural Special Rebels will be playing in the State Basketball Tournament at North Ark College in Harrison on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 2:30pm vs. County Line. Students who wish to attend the game may leave school at 12:20pm (please check out in the office). In addition, we will be taking a pep bus that will be leaving at 12:20pm. Students will eat lunch before leaving on the bus. The bus should return around 6:00pm. Students will need concession money, and they will need a signed permission form to ride the bus.

We will be taking a pep bus to the games on Thursday. Students in grades 7-12 may ride- we will leave right after school Thursday and return around 10:00pm. The Booster Club will pay admission for students riding the bus, but they will need to bring concession money and be on their best behavior during all games that night. Lady Rebels play at 4:00 pm and our boys play at 8:30 pm.

We will be taking a pep bus to the District Tournament tomorrow. Booster club will be paying admission for all students who ride the pep bus- the only requirement is to sit in the student section, cheer LOUDLY, and bring any money needed for concessions. The bus will leave school at 4:15, and students wanting to ride may meet in Mrs Mealer's room after school to wait on the bus. Parents, please send a signed note with your student, giving permission to go. This is for grades 7-12. The bus will return @9 GO REBELS

Monday, Feb. 12, will be an incentive day for students who took the NWEA tests for Reading, Math, and Language and who either met the benchmark level or showed growth in specific areas. Notes are going home with students today, indicating whether your child has earned the incentive day, meaning they can stay home that day, or whether they will need to attend school that day.

The Rural Special Junior High Quiz Bowl Team is the undefeated 1A Regional Champions. Team members are: (Front row, left to right) Jocelyn Rushing, Jayden Blackwell, Easton Youngblood, Mary Rodgers, Ava Youngblood, Sabrina McBroom, Logan Newman, Tucker Taylor, Hudson Nichols, Kamrin Kennedy, and Gregory Holmes. Taylor led the team in scoring and was named to the All-Region team. The team is coached by Kara Blackwell.
